For the record, I suggested changing the first debate to Sola Scriptura as I see that as a more logical starting point. Mr. James rejected that request, so we will proceed with the first debate as planned.
The debate will take place at 7:00 PM on Saturday, May 10th and will be available on our You Tube channel youtube.com/@the4persons. People can simply watch it live on our twitter site as it will be live streaming there. We will also produce an audio-only podcast of the event.
After our moderator briefly introduces himself and sets the rules, we will proceed to the debate itself.
Adam James will offer an opening statement of up to 10 minutes making the affirmative case that Christians today are obligated, under penalty of sin, to observe a Saturday Sabbath. The exact language of that premise has been agreed upon by both parties prior to the debate.
John Benko will offer a rebuttal to Adam's opening statement of up to 5 minutes.
The moderator will then have the opportunity to seek further clarification on any point, if he deems it necessary.
John Benko will then make the dissenting case in his 10-minute open. John will attempt to demonstrate that we are not only not required to observe a Saturday Sabbath, but not permitted to.

Adam James will offer his rebuttal, up to 5 minutes.
The moderator will again be given the opportunity to seek clarification as needed.
Adam James will then be given the opportunity to ask three questions, 1 at a time, in which John Benko will have up to 2 minutes to answer each.
The sequence will then be reversed, with John Benko asking, Adam James answering.
The moderator will again be given the opportunity to seek clarification as needed, or to allow brief rebuttals if he feels appropriate.
Adam will then give his 5-minute closing statement, followed by John's.
We will be providing extensive show notes and supplementary material and will gladly exchange this information with Mr. James.
