Revelers in New Orleans were just trying to ring in the New Year and prepare for a college football playoff game. They weren't hurting anyone. They were not a threat to anyone.
All of a sudden, a homicidal maniac drove his truck into a crowd of people in a senseless act of mayhem and murder that left at least 10 people dead.
Now the Sugar Bowl is postponed, a nation is shocked, and grief stricken and a New Year, only a precious few hours old, is off to a horrific start.
Why?
What wrong was righted by this attack? What agenda was moved forward by this attack?
Mindless violence and sadistic murder for sheer entertainment value. Focus on this and understand what kind of enemy you face. Hold that image in your mind so that he cannot ensnare you in his traps.
This is the enemy who inspired Nero. This is the enemy who motived Hitler and Napolean, Mao and Stalin. We need to find a way to unite, Christians lest this enemy devour us.
